Replacement fans. That’s the solution to the problems the NFL is currently experiencing. Those of us who enjoy watching professional football need to force the owners to find replacement fans.
So turn the television off next Sunday. Go play football instead. Or do something else. Anything.
Let’s see the owners try to replace us.
Good idea, but will never happen. Football is an opiate to its fans.
Roger, you may be right, but some if not many have risen to elect a “black man” as our first President. What next, a woman?
If so, why not also a rejection of the serfdom of NFL officials first morally expressed in rights of workers long ago in the 1896 moral teaching of “Rerum Novarum on the equality of labor and capital?

God is not the GOP nor the NFL owners; “the worker is worthy of his wages.”
NFL refs deserve benefits to provide a secure retirement including health insurance just as the NFL owners have provided for themselves benefiting from workers.
The dispute is one of equality, of fairness, of morality
Because no one ever complained about the regular refs
Super Id sides with the owners. I’m shocked.
No, I just always side against the Packers.
I don’t believe you. I’ll bet you’re really Roger Goodell.
No, I’m really Obama. I like to redistribute the Packer’s wealth of victories to less fortunate teams.
Now I think you’re really Dinesh D’Souza.

Or you might be Roger Goodell doing your best Rick Esenberg impression.
Or I might just be happy when Detroit and Chicago make the playoffs and Green Bay does not.
Fair enough, Roger.
Locking out the officials was an odd stand to take…there are probably games when the starting quarterback on one team may make more for that game than the entire officiating squad…men who only have their wits and agility keeping them from getting killed while 22 heavily armored players aren’t paying them never no mind. Guys who obviously have a heavy influence on the final results of the games…affecting heavy money results in Vegas and local economies through loss of home game advantage or playoff games at all. And the owners decide to lock them out and risk their product over a few bucks? Even though the real refs are back tonight, I’ll sit this out…just let me know where the coolest Super Bowl party will be held.
