During proceedings in the State Assembly on June 13, 2013, Democratic Rep. Gary Hebl stood to acknowledge citizens in the Assembly gallery who had been forcibly removed from the gallery despite having done nothing to violate the rules (except exercising their Constitutional rights). In response to Rep. Hebl, Republican Speaker Pro Tem Bill Kramer chose to mock Hebl, saying, “I’m really sorry if you feel that hurts democracy. Luckily, we live in a Republic.”
No doubt Kramer was pleased with how much of a snide, contemptuous jackass he was able to be in one short exchange, which you can watch below.
