Jack Conway’s remarks came in the wake of a federal judge’s ruling that Kentucky must recognize same sex marriages performed out of state.

While I have concerns about any attorney general not fighting for or following the laws of the state I also can say there comes a time when certain laws are so clearly unconstitutional they need to be fought on every level. Fortunately there are few examples where this is the case. But as federal judges have demonstrated around the nation the basic core issues of attempting to limit marriage of gay people, or recognize those marriages under law is just plain unconstitutional. Not one single federal judge has written otherwise. Therefore I applaud the actions of Kentucky Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway who has stated he will not challenge the judge’s order.
