An Unexpected Condemnation Of The Charlie Hebdo Murders

Another condemnation of the murders and terrorism in Paris from a decidedly unexpected source…Hamas:

Gaza City (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) – Palestinian Islamist group Hamas condemned Saturday the killing of 12 people in an attack on French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo’s offices by two French Islamists.

A statement in French said Hamas “condemns the attack against Charlie Hebdo magazine and insists on the fact that differences of opinion and thought cannot justify murder.”

  1. Sadly humorous to see these great defenders of free speech from Fox News pundits to students and faculty demanding so-called speech zones and insisting various speakers shouldn’t speak on campus to UAE leadership to Hamas position themselves on this one.

More illuminating to me is the thoughtful analysis we’re seeing across related topics this week – this New Statesman article suggests we should apply more surgical precision in our analysis of where Jihadists come from and what they believe: http://www.newstatesman.com/world-affairs/2014/11/wahhabism-isis-how-saudi-arabia-exported-main-source-global-terrorism

Most probably a result of the peace talk efforts between Isreal and Palestine. No effort for life is in vain.
