Mitch McConnell gets a dose of his own medicine and doesn’t like the taste

Yesterday U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) issued a statement after Senate Democrats filibustered legislation advancing the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made the following remarks on the Senate floor calling on Senate Democrats to support the Keystone Pipeline:

“The Keystone jobs bill is a bipartisan infrastructure project the American people deserve.

“So the vote last night to filibuster was disappointing.

Of course, the irony in Sen. McConnell’s disappointment is the fact that Sen. McConnell spent 8 years as Senate Minority Leader doing everything he could to filibuster or otherwise obstruct virtually anything and everything Democrats were trying to do.

  1. Maybe now the Senate can focus on a jobs or infrastructure bill that will create more than 30 permanent jobs.

  2. There is a just God after all. Stopping Keystone and McConnell together is a sure sign.

    Let’s all sing together:

    “Go Canada!
    Keep your tar sand oil!”

    Hum the rest.

Hey, I’m part Canuck; John Baptiste Dube* arrived in 1635 settling on the upper St Lawrence. I’m sure he too would have objected to the pipes and spills polluting the forests and waters of “O Canada.”

*Note: Some dumb Norwegian town clerk added a “y” to my paternal grandparents’ name when they illegally settled in yupper land circa 1900.
