A bunch of folks across the blogosphere – including capper at Whallah!, Kay at Kay’s Blue Racine, folkbum, and Michael Mathias at Pundit Nation have been talking about Kevin Fischer, the aide to State Senator Mary Lazich, who has his own blog over at Franklin NOW. In his free time, Mr. Fischer seems to be fond of acting like a boor, which wouldn’t really be anything newsworthy, except for the fact that Fischer is one of Mary Lazich’s aides, and as such his behavior towards a constituent of hers is certainly uncalled for.
Perhaps Mr. Fischer should think before he types, or at the very least, he should try not to be such an outright ass (yeah, I said it), because in my mind his behavior in the blogging community most certainly reflects on his boss.
(Not so) surprisingly, there has not been one right wing blogger who has condemned Mr. Fischer for his attacks. Go figure. I know from experience how they scream when it is one of their own that feels their faux outrage.
I’m not a blogger, but I am far to the right of center. Fischer has proven himself to be a blowhard. I think that he thought that he could pull off a “shock jock” mentality and still feel that he could rise above. The NOW websites all seemed to go through a vocally strong period that seemed to suddenly end at the time that Fischer blew his gasket.
It is really pathetic to watch his friends try to drum up support for him on other sites, only to be left standing alone. I think that conservatives don’t call out their counterparts, they shun them. That is what we are now seeing in the area. Even those that like him are disassociating themselves, and he has effectively been sent to the corner for a long time.
Stimpy, thanks for your comments. I know I’m a liberal, and thus I’m not frequently going to agree with much that comes from the right wing of the blogosphere and talk radio, but as I’ve said more than once, I actually do appreciate those folks on the right who are rational able to clearly articulate their beliefs without resorting to name calling and “shouting.”
What’s most disappointing to me about Kevin Fischer is that he’s a man in a unique position, given his standing in Senator Lazich’s office. As such, one would think he’d be more apt to act with dignity and decorum, but I suppose good behavior wouldn’t drive up his page hits.
