Courtesy of Matt Yglesias of Think Progress, here’s footage of Congressman Mike Pence of Indiana admitting he’s so beholden to Rush Limbaugh that he won’t criticize El Rushbo for saying, “we have to bend over, grab the angles, bend over forward, backward whichever, because his father was black, because he’s the first black president.”
Here’s the video:
Noticeably absent from Rep. Pence’s remarks was any sort of admonishment of Rush Limbaugh’s comments, and DougJ from Balloon Juice summed up best what I’m thinking:
The mistake the Republicans are making here is a basic one: now they’ve admitted that they take orders from Rush, they’re on the hook for all the crazy ass things he says on the show. And that’s not a good place to be.
Ultimately, if a guy like Rep. Mike Pence wants to crawl into bed with Rush Limbaugh, then so be it, but he’d better not complain when he comes up with fleas.
H/T to The Brawler.
Now you’ve forced me to go get the video and watch it (YouTube is not allowed on my computer’s filter). Hold on.
Oh, good grief. Nora O’Donnell? On MSDNC, part of the Obama conglomerate of stations?
It’s quite a stretch to go from “I won’t criticize.” to taking orders. And he clearly said, “Oh, gosh, no.” when asked if was so beholden to Rush, he couldn’t criticize him.
And we can’t criticize Obama. I’ve already seen that on the left already.
Much ado about nothing. But hey, as long as you guys keep giving it play, Rush will laugh all the way to the bank, because his ratings will soar.
Obama wants to be a puppeteer of the “new business world”
