I’ll take the counterpoint on this one. It’s actually proof privatization works. We all get a laugh but we can then send the signs back for warranty work at someone else’s expense. The signs are already corrected, which is more than I can say about the pot holes in the street.
SuperId has it exactly right. Instead of costing taxpayers double if it has been a government mistake, it only costs us the original amount to have the mistake corrected.
What is your point here? Are you saying government is more effective, efficient, less costly? I don’t suppose you remember time and time again of different government agencies revealing social security numbers of thousands of residents? And it almost always costs more to have the government do something than the private sector. Because they are spending other peoples’ money with little accountability.
