July’s unemployment numbers came out this week, and while they’re not great, there is a silver lining. Though the national unemployment rate sits at 9.4 percent, that’s a decrease from June’s 9.5 percent unemployment rate. What’s more, a net total of 247,000 jobs were lost in July, which represents the fewest number of jobs lost in a year. The 247,000 jobs lost is also a dramatic improvement over June, when 443,000 jobs were lost.
