Conservative pundit: maybe a coup is in order!

In a column written for Newsmax, John L. Perry, who served on White House staffs of two presidents, opined that a military coup to resolve the “Obama problem” might be in order:

Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

What’s more, Perry goes on to fantasize about a right-wing government free from “radical-left” commissars:

Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Remember those folks on the right who complained about the “Bush derangement syndrome” exhibited by some on the left? I do, and I think it’s clear that there are plenty of folks on the right who are exhibiting clear signs of “Obama derangement syndrome.”

The fact that there are some who think an overthrow of our government, which was elected freely and fairly, should be an option for our military to consider is more than disturbing – it’s terrifying.

H/T to Deke Rivers.

  1. I am surprised that no one in the mainstream media picked this story up. At the same time I am heartened that enough of the blogging world picked it up to the point that the original column was taken off of Newsmax.
