Does this surprise you? Everybody screwed the pooch on this but at least Ryan admits to it. He may have tried but nobody listened….. Republican or democrat. When is Barney going to admit he screwed up on Freddie/Fannie? NEVER…. When was the last time a democrat admitted they failed at something? Why is a conservative called KOOKY when they admit to a fault?? Sounds a bit more like taking responsibility rather than kooky.. Something democrat will never do… Tell me again who the kooky ones are? Would you care to comment on Charlie Rangel and Nancy Pelosi’s “Most Ethical Congress EVER?”
Weren’t Democrats extremely critical for years about how George Bush could never admit a mistake? Had he taken your bait you would have slammed him when he did.
And so what. Most plans or legislation fail, that’s the way the system is designed. Democrats failed at health care back in 1993, and so on. What exactly is your point?
What “long period of power” do you refer to? Democrats were in charge of Congress for 40 years. Republicans held both houses for 6 years under a Democrat (Clinton) and only a few years under Bush, when there were bigger issues at stake (war, terrorism). But you might say they did “achieve” something on health care — prescription drug benefit for seniors, which in your mind was probably a good thing.
I wonder when Obama will get around to admitting to any of his failures? How about 10% unemployment after the stimulus package, for starters.
