Earlier this month, I mentioned Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dave Westlake would be appearing at this month’s edition of Drinking Liberally, and as I wrote back then, I wasn’t kidding. Here’s the announcement for this month’s edition of Drinking Liberally, courtesy of Jason Haas:
Gather round, my lefty folk, come hear the tale of the tea partier who ventured into Milwaukee realm. The one who came, Westlake was his name, and into the land of beer and progressives he roamed. Over taxes and healthcare he groaned, under entitlement and non-discrimination he moaned, when really, there was no threat he’d be disowned. For it’s nothing like what he’d been shown(ed).
(Rest assured we don’t speak in verse at Drinking Liberally. Or anything remotely like it. And it may be telling that this meesage was composed *without* the aid of beer…)
Let me shove aside my rare (rare?) case of bad writing and give you the details:

This will most certainly be one of the highlights of from the campaign trail…I’m looking forward to it. I love speaking with people who are passionate about a cause–and the Drinking Liberally group is obviously that! I can’t wait to see you all on Wednesday!

I just learned that there will be a live reading happening over the PA that night, so our impassioned discussion will have to be kept to a slight murmur until the author is done reading at 8:15. Dave, as I’ve said before, I give you credit for taking the time to come speak to a group that won’t have too many “friendly” faces.
Thanks Zach…but as you and I have already discovered, you can disagree on issues and still be a “friendly face,” right? Honestly, I’m looking forward to meeting a bunch of new people who will always passionately stand up for what they believe in and defend their positions, regardless of the circumstances–that’s what makes this country unique…and great!
