Nah, there’s no need for reform

While Republicans like Sen. Mitch McConnell continue to voice their opposition to financial reform targeting Wall Street – and have issued thinly veiled threats to filibuster reform legislation – there’s news Senate Democrats are going to push ahead with reform legislation.

Personally, I’m of the belief that if Senate Republicans want to come down on the side of Wall Street and stand opposed to reforms that would hopefully eliminate the kinds of risk-taking that helped contribute greatly to the current economic downturn, then so be it. Not only is siding with Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street financial institutions bad policy, but it also promises to be incredibly bad politics.
