Obviously the big news in politics this week was the State of the Union address given by President Obama, so I thought we’d discuss what you thought of the President’s address.
Personally, I thought the speech was solid, if unspectacular.

The president was wearing a dress?
Oh, never mind.
Seemed like he was trying to hard to be inspirational, or to convince people that in fact he was meaning to be inspirational (at one point delivering the words in a strained whisper.)
In my opinion, most State of the Union Speeches are pretty generic – solid, but otherwise underwhelming and just ‘all right’. I think the problem is most of them keep trying to copy John F. Kennedy’s style.
Agreed. Most State of the Union addresses I’ve seen have been long on rhetoric and short on substance.
