I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I think it bears mentioning again.
I’ve tried really really hard to cultivate an environment here where folks can come, share their opinions, and discuss/argue politics & news, and I don’t want to see that altered or ruined by personal attacks and name calling. I know that most of you who read this blog are passionate about politics – otherwise you wouldn’t be here – but please don’t let that passion translate into personal attacks and name calling towards other commenters. I know I’ve been guilty of my fair share of sarcasm and snark, but that’s a far cry from some of the stuff I’ve witnessed here lately.
As far as I know, we’re all adults, so let’s please try to act as such and treat each other a little bit better.
Zach,
I have no idea what you’re talking about and I resent the slightest implication that I do. 🙂 🙁
Time after time, one of the simplest messages we teach our kids – “If you don’t have any thing nice to say, don’t say anything at all,” is one of the most difficult to do as an adult.
Locke,
I have no idea what you’re talking about and I resent the slightest implication that I do.
I can honestly say, when I typed it, I was thinking about myself. Should’ve used more specific pronouns I guess.
The fact that Steve is just kidding around (as he is good-naturedly inclined to do from time to time) aside for the moment, I think that all of us could and should strive (excepting maybe Steve and Zach) to express ourselves around here in a more civil fashion. I know that I could.
The personal subtext of your original message was apparent to me, by the way. That said, it was cool of you to step up like that.
Zuma,
It appears to me that in the above comment you’re accusing me of civility, which I vehemently deny. America is the land of plausible deniability and I am, if nothing else, a patriot.
