Scott Walker donor breaks campaign finance laws

According to a report from the Associate Press, the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign filed a complaint Wednesday with the state’s Government Accountability Board (GAB) alleging ten donors to the gubernatorial campaign of Republican Scott Walker exceeded the $10,000 limit on donations by an individual during a campaign period.

Among those individuals who are alleged to have made contributions in excess of the $10,000 limit is Ted Nickel, who was
appointed earlier this year by Gov. Walker to serve as Wisconsin’s Commissioner of Insurance. According to the complaint, Nickel gave $10,255 to Walker’s gubernatorial campaign between October 2008 and August 2010.

I guess the moral of this story is that the more you donate to Scott Walker, the better the appointment you’ll get in his administration.

  1. Oh, the scandal. Political crony gets appointed.

Good thing Democrats only make appointments based on moral excellence.

    1. Here’s how your first two sentences should read, squidknuckle.

“Oh the scandal. Political crony who broke campaign finance laws gets appointed.”

      That’s more accurate.

  2. Apparently, Zach, you’ve given squidknuckle the “vapors”.

Scandalous, my dear Squidly? Perhaps not. Wrong? Absolutely.

Give the “Democrats do it, too” whine a rest. And stop confusing deflection with the interposition of a valid defense.

    1. Ok, you win.

Here is my feelings about his story – who cares? Other than Zach, of course.

      Happy?

      1. squid, would you care if we substituted Gov. Jim Doyle for Gov. Scott Walker?

        I’m betting you’d care then…

  3. All right, Squidly, here are my feelings about your feelings – who cares?

    Happy?

That said, who cares about the story, “other than Zach”, you ask? Lots of people, just not Republicans, who NEVER seem to care when it concerns one of their own.
