I did learn something

from reading the right wing cheddarsphere….Kevin Binversie wrote a post defending the actions of of notorious balloon popper Ron Blair. Where he propped up Mr. Blair for turning in the original “Capitol Balloon” to the state Historical Society.

Binversie states that Mr. Blair was just doing his job:

In my opinion, the guy was just doing his job. Like it or not, the protesters who are leaving these balloons (actually still illegal to bring into the capitol in Madison, but that’s another point against Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs…) in the rotunda might not know it, but the balloons can damage the murals inside it. It’s the job of the team at Facilities Management to make sure that doesn’t happen, and the only way to stop that from happening is to get rid of the balloons.

Despite the claim that Binversie actually does research, and has an editor, Kevin proves once again that both are done poorly. Mr. Blair was recently charged with Disorderly Conduct While armed.

According to the complaint, Peterson told police she was in front of the state Supreme Court chambers on the second floor of the Capitol when Blair walked up behind her and used a knife to stab a balloon that she was taking out of a paper bag. Then he identified himself as a Capitol Police officer and said he was tired of retrieving balloons from the Capitol, Peterson told police.

Blair later told police that he had used a blade on his multi-tool to pop the balloon, the complaint states.

The incident happened just after the daily noontime “Solidarity Singalong” in the rotunda, which protests a state law stripping most collective bargaining rights from most public workers.

Red balloons have become a common sight at the singalongs.

Peterson told police that she ran down a staircase after Blair, the complaint states, and on the first floor he grabbed her by the arm and pushed her into the door of a women’s restroom so hard that both of them momentarily stumbled into the restroom.

Blair, an assistant director of the Division of State Facilities, was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. The charge was enhanced because Blair allegedly used a dangerous weapon, adding another potential six months in jail.

So either Kevin Binversie did absolutely no research, or he truly thinks that violence against women is just all in a days work.

  1. Jeff –

Love how you added the new facts which just came out yesterday via the WSJ as a failure of research on my part. Proves you’re the condescending, Madison-based jackass we all on the right know you are.

Thanks for proving me right there.

As for my first post, my point was more about pointing out the irony of Blair being the one who found the first balloon to the current situation. I don’t support what he did against Ms. Peterson, and it clearly is an over-reaction on his part.

After all, he himself said he snapped.

  2. Actually Kevin thank you for proving me right. There were NO new facts that came out yesterday except that he was charged. The charges brought against him were in the original story AND he was actually arrested some time ago but finally charged yesterday.

Also had you actually read my post, I acknowledged that he was the person who recovered the original “Capitol Balloon” with two different links.

Blair was in the news recently for recovering the infamous \”Capitol Balloon\”.

So I stand by this as these facts were out since the story was out YET you still wrote this:

*In my opinion, the guy was just doing his job.*

Unless throwing women against the bathroom is part of his job description, either you did NO research or you approve of violence against women.

Thanks for the compliment! Hey do you think Chuck and Dave would hire me too?

  3. Take it easy guys.

Binversie, like James ” Wiggy ” Wigderson, was just doing his job, namely, polishing turds.

    http://uppitywis.org/blogarticle/spin-spin-spin-again#comments

Think about it for a moment. The size and frequency of the turds coming out of the FitzWalker administration over the last six months has exhausted the likes of Wiggy and Been Versey. Their arms are tired, their eyes are watering, and their olfactory sense is under siege.

Conservative blogging in Wisconsin these days is a cross between a sweatshop and a three hole outhouse. Give’em a break. They probably need a union.

    1. Great post, Steve.

“Polishing turds”. . .”Cross between a sweatshop and a three-hole outhouse. . .(*laughing*)

      Ouch, huh, Kevin?
