Janet, this isn’t the website for United Wisconsin, and I’m certain you didn’t send me a check. If you’d like to check the status of your check, you might want to call United Wisconsin’s Madison office at 608-251-0532.
It’s often pretty hard to determine the original source of DDOS attacks — we get ’em pretty often, they’re usually pretty incompetent. There were several waves at Uppitywis during the first batch of recalls, and I suspect we’ll get more – but we’re pretty hardened against ’em. (besides, some of them were talking ’bout doing it on FACEBOOK for god’s sake). Anyway, DDOS attacks happen pretty often, and unless they’re really prolonged and well-done, you just sort of ride them out and block what you can. Not sure it’s really worth getting disturbed about, though I know nothing about the details in this case. These attacks are sometimes just because they’re possible, not for any good reason.
I’m pretty sure in our case that this is the same sort of aimless bunch of tea-party-ish people who are talking up destroying recall signatures, etc. Not exactly organized, and not really worth worrying about too much.
