This morning’s New York Times included a short article on the City of Washington D.C.’s struggle with controlling HIV. From one of the worst infection rates in the world, through innovative steps and out in the street HIV testing, they are making great strides in controlling the transmission of the disease. Although a remarkable story and a positive trend for Washington, there were two small sentences that put a lot of health care issues in perspective (emphasis mine):
Washington has some major advantages over rival cities. Almost 94 percent of its residents have health insurance, second only to Massachusetts.
Second only to Massachusetts! Thank you Mitt Romney!
SQUIRM!

My comment was a bit too short. But, brevity is wit! (innit?)
