Mitt Romney’s lies on green energy

Here’s Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, attacking President Obama’s green energy efforts at Wednesday’s presidential debate.

You put $90 billion into green jobs…And these businesses, many of them have gone out of business, I think about half of them, of the ones have been invested in have gone out of business.

Of course, virtually everything Mitt Romney said in his statement is false. The Department of Energy program he was referring to approved 33 loans worth about $16 billion, and just three of those DoE loans have failed – Solyndra, Beacon, and Abound – which is a failure rate of just nine percent, which is a far cry from Romney’s claim of a fifty percent failure rate.

Apparently there’s no lie too big or too small for Mitt Romney to tell.
