On Tuesday Republican Senator and former Majority Leader Dale Schultz appeared on the Drive Home With Sly, where he spoke out against the control that conservative radio station WTMJ has over conservative Wisconsin politicians, but especially those in southeastern Wisconsin.
H/T to Uppity Wisconsin.
When the Republicans passed the mining bill, were they thinking of Teddy Roosevelt? Doubt it.
I think this is overstated…not sure I would care what Mr. Sykes has to say even if I were an elected official…but otoh I wouldn’t be pandering to the conservative right or the tea party to start with…getting dissed by Mr. Sykes would just add to my progressive street cred!
Almost cut off at the end is one of the most salient elements of this interview: Schultz is a republican disciple of Teddy Roosevelt. In other words, he’s a republican in the most traditional sense -in the fashion of Teddy Roosevelt- who by today’s measure would be on the left wing of the Democratic Party.
