According to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access Program, newly elected Cudahy Alderman Justin Moralez has a June 24 jury trial set for the Operating While Intoxicated citation he was issued (along with other citations) on January 13, 2013.
In addition to being cited for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), Moralez was also cited for Operating w/ PAC >=0.08, <0.15 (1st), Deviation from Designated Lane, Failure to Obey Traffic Officer/Signal, Fail to Signal Turn, and Inattentive Driving. While there had been rumors of Moralez's legal difficulties in the weeks leading up to the April 2, 2013 election, I don't believe Moralez himself ever acknowledged his legal difficulties, either before or after the January 19, 2013 primary or in the time between the primary and the general election.
In a Facebook message following up on my comment on Hollenbeck’s NOW post, Moralez told me he could not comment on the matter publicly as it was an ongoing investigation, but assured me the tickets would be dismissed once the whole story came out.
We’ll see about that. Bob Schmadl said the same thing when his prostitution solicitation arrest came out, but things didn’t work out the way Bob said they would.
