Scott Walker told CNBC’s Larry Kudlow last week that he believes health insurance premiums will rise by 80% or more under the Affordable Care Act. Said Walker : “ The Affordable Care Act, we believe by any number of measures, will show an 80 percent or more increase in premiums going into the next year. “
Really? Look, Governor, everyone knows you have a propensity for pulling great big numbers out of your ass and then backpedaling wildly in a pathetic attempt to explain the bad smell in the air, but this one seems like a real stinker even for you. Where do you get your numbers?
A full four months before this bit of verbal flatulence wafted from your mouth The New American, the John Birch Society mouthpiece squawking from your own backyard in Grand Chute WI, published an attack article screaming about how ” Obamacare ” had resulted in Maryland’s largest health insurer to propose a 25% hike in premiums. Two months after that state officials in Maryland announced new premium rates that took almost everyone by surprise with their affordability.
Let’s see if I have this straight. The John Birch Society commie hating alarmists in Grand Chute decried a possible 25% premium hike as the result of the ACA, and now you’re predicting an 80% or more hike, better than triple their figure, a month or so after their histrionics have been debunked. Hmmm. Does this mean that you’re at least three times as full of shit as they are?
That would explain the smell around Wisconsin these days.
SC,
I don’t know what will happen to the price of insurance premiums as the Affordable Care Act kicks in, but, I have a prediction as to which way they will go. Up. The magnitude? That’s a good question. Do you know? Offer a guess? Do you Care? Jus’ ask’in….
Meanwhile, seems Governor Walker tosses out rhetoric in the form of numbers occasionally. That doesn’t seem to add value to the situation or aid him in any way. It doesn’t aid the opposition either simply because it is rhetoric. Ignore it. Voters know where the rubber meets the road (I hope) and rhetoric does not pay the bills. Not as stinky as you may think. Besides, a high percentage of people of all ages laugh at farts. Have a good weekend.
ig,
Why does the U.S. spend so much more per capita on health care than all those socialist countries who have universal coverage?

Where’s all the money going?
Claw-back, another piece of a puzzle when trying to fully understand the ACA people should probably be aware of. A great incentive to want to have two working spouses.
Even at $150/month, a family of four on $40K annually, with no dental included, ACA enrollment would likely mean one week a month with very little to eat according to my own conservative budget for a family of two and trying to keep food on the table.

What’s so nutty about Walker’s discrediting of Obamacare is that he’s enouraging his own supporters who desperately need coverage to sacrifice their health and the health of their children for his own presidential ambitions. He has literally nothing to offer to regular Wisconsin families.
That would be true if ACA enrollment actually provides a means to get real and needed healthcare for you or your family. Quite a few questions about it doing anything more than sucking (further lip service) more dollars from your pocket with no guarantee of affordable or available health care and nothing about controlling provider costs, be it for the insurers or the healthcare providers.
Walker is full of it for sure, but focusing on him, over this issue, is another diversion from the bigger picture. Obomba’s capitulation to HCIP and HMCP. Geez.
Yes, yes, universal healthcare is of course what’s needed. Baucus made sure the public option was killed so here we are. Bottomline, people who need coverage will have something. My point is that Walker just tears it down and offers no solutions to families. We need to elect legislators and leaders who will build.
Links please. Forced premium payments along with very high deductibles are not guaranteeing anything affordable or needed as far as actual available and affordable healthCARE for the foreseeable future.

Follow the couple links in that comment, self-employed, I am in a similar situation, that link, there are others, was stated clearly.
Again, blaming Walker is only of limited value in an election year, but bringing this home to the Democratic candidates and to R state legislative members who supported everything Walker did in the past on healthCARE or everything Obomba did regarding bringing this sham legislation, apparently needs to be further explained.
Then why has Walker delayed putting out the Cost’s of Premiums? http://www.jsonline.com/news/opinion/why-is-gov-scott-walker-hiding-health-care-prices-b9983959z1-221234301.html Or misrepresented the Cost’s http://newiprogressive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3263:is-walker-trying-to-manipulate-the-health-insurance-numbers-to-scare-people&catid=44:the-health-cat&Itemid=61 Also http://madisonvoices.com/WalkerMisrepresentsMITstudyAug2012.html We know why,His numbers where pulled out of thin air and he realizes WE will find out the actual truth. Pretty interesting Rick Perry asked for the 100 Mil for Medicaid Expansion, Why not Walker? Why Jan Brewer? Because he Flat out lied to stick to the talking point’s.
