Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you no doubt remember the horribly bigoted and hateful remarks made by “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson, who compared homosexuality to bestiality when he said, “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.” Pretty awful stuff, and despite the furor his comments created Phil Robertson has stood by his remarks.
Keep Phil Robertson’s comments in mind as I share this little nugget of information.
On Friday, October 3 the Teen Challenge 2014 Banquet & Auction will be held at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee. “An Evening With the Robertson Family” will feature appearances by Phil Robertson, his wife Kay, and their son Alan Robertson and his wife Lisa, along with another special guest – first lady of Wisconsin Tonette Walker.

I’ve long believed you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep, and in this case Tonette Walker’s choice of company speaks volumes.
