Though less than a week has passed since former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold announced he’ll challenge Republican Ron Johnson in Wisconsin’s 2016 U.S. Senate race, Sen. Johnson has already upped the ridiculous factor by a quotient of ten, accusing Feingold of being “addicted” to politics.
Facing a rematch with his 2010 rival, Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson on Saturday painted himself as a political outsider and his opponent Russ Feingold as a creature of Washington who is addicted to politics.
“Trust me — in Washington, D.C., I’m an outsider,” Johnson told reporters after delivering a speech at the state Republican Party’s annual convention at the La Crosse Center.
His speech came two days after Feingold announced he would seek the seat he lost to Johnson after 18 years in the Senate. The race is expected to be one of the top Senate contests of 2016.
Johnson said it wasn’t surprising Feingold had gotten into the race 18 months before the election.
“Russ Feingold is a career politician,” Johnson said in his speech. “He’s addicted to it. He just can’t stand being away from it, and so he’s just got to announce.”
Considering how clueless many consider Sen. Johnson to be, I’d take anything that comes from his campaign with a large grain of salt.
So explain to me what (mo)Ron has done in his 4 1/2 years in office, if he’s still an “outsider” working with the majority party? And after the childishness and poser moves coming out of DC since 2010, don’t we want to have people who know politics and have a clue about what they’re talking about?
And speaking of “addicted to politics”, what does (mo)Ron think about Scott Walker and Paul Ryan, who have never held any post-college job that didn’t involve politics? And unlike Russ, Purty Pau-LIE and Scotty constantly try to screw up the services of the same government they have been part of for decades.
Please proceed with this 2010 campaign in 2016, (mo)Ron. This clown’s so far out of touch that he doesn’t understand how things have changed outside of the bubble. (mo)Ron keeps this up, and he might be a legitimate candidate for a “Santorum in 2006”- level loss for an incumbent Senator, (59-41).
Every veteran in wisconsin knows that johnson has voted no on every bill that would help them. From healthcare, education, even to protect them from payday loan sharks. He was one of the traitors who signed that letter to Iran. The list is endless. Here’s an idea for you Russ; bumperstickers saying ROJONO. You can have that one for free.
