Epic Fail!

Earlier this year, former Wisconsin State Senator Tom Reynolds started Clean Sweep Wisconsin, a political action committee with a stated goal of electing “NEW people to state offices to make our government accountable and work for the people again, instead of the special interests…” After the foundation of Clean Sweep Wisconsin, Reynolds went to work recruiting a slate of conservative candidates to run against established Democratic Assembly candidates, and the results are in (CSW denotes Clean Sweep Wisconsin candidates):

State Assembly District 8:
Pedro Colon (inc.): 55%
Laura L. Manriquez: 26%
Jose Guzman (CSW): 19%

State Assembly District 10:
Annette Polly Williams (inc.): 87%
Charisha Allen (CSW): 13%

State Assembly District 15:
Tony Staskunas (inc.): 76%
Josh Hoisington (CSW): 24%

State Assembly District 16:
Leon D. Young (inc.): 52%
Andy Parker: 20%
Richard M. Badger: 12%
David D. King (CSW): 16%

State Assembly District 17:
Barbara L. Toles (inc.): 89%
Samantha H. Bady (CSW): 11%

State Assembly District 20:
Christine M. Sinicki (inc.): 61%
Philip Landowski (CSW): 24%
Steve Sutherland: 15%

The best any of the Clean Sweep candidates could muster was a paltry 24% of the vote, and so I think congratulations are in order. Congratulations Tom Reynolds….Clean Sweep Wisconsin was an epic failure!

  1. For some reason I doubt that all the folks who voted for the Clean Sweep “Democrats” were Democrats, especially considering the lack of any contested Republican primaries.
