Under a proposal submitted by Republican State Sen. Glenn Grothman and Republican State Rep. Dale Kooyenga and passed by the Joint Finance Committee on Friday night, manufacturers and agricultural businesses in Wisconsin would receive hundreds of millions of dollars in tax cuts at a time when Republicans in the state legislatures have proposed close to a billion dollars in cuts to state funding for education and social safety net programs.
According to an estimate from the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, the tax break/handout from Republicans to Wisconsin businesses would cost $10.1 million the first year before increasing to a yearly cost of $128.7 million in 2016 and every year after that.
Yeah, clearly Republicans here in Wisconsin have their priorities in order. Education and the social safety net? Not nearly as important as giving hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to businesses – at a time when Wisconsin is supposed to have a multi-billion dollar structural deficit, no less.
Its obvious that we as a state are broke and cant afford it anymore. We must break up WMC!

Don’t worry Ed; Republicans are going to get around to job creation right after they deal with more important issues like public employee collective bargaining, cutting education funding, passing concealed carry laws, and making it harder for citizens to vote. Clearly those issues are all more important than creating jobs.
