On Sept. 22, the governor and first lady will hold a private reception and croquet tournament at the governor’s mansion
And yet conservatives are fond of calling liberals elitists?
I know a lot of liberals, and I can’t recall ever hearing one of them say they wanted to play some croquet.
Personally, I’m a fan of basketball and football, but apparently Gov. Scott Walker enjoys croquet.
Actually, I like croquet…lotsa fun to play after “a couple” and a backyard BBQ…I especially love whacking my mallet against my (plastic) ball to watch/enjoy sending my opponents (plastic) ball into nowhere land…in our game of croquet getting through the wickets is not the point of the game…it’s destroying and sending your opponents (plastic) balls into oblivion. Lots more fun when you trash talk the “enemy” just as they’re lining up their mallet shot.
I don’t think Scott and Tonette play my style of croquet.
“I don’t think Scott and Tonette play my style of croquet”
I think maybe they do…and isn’t this soiree being held on a week day when those pesky working stiffs can’t make it?
We play full contact croquet in the northwoods. Bring your mouthguard.
When a friend purchased his house here in MKE, the garage came with a left-behind croquet set (not “left behind” in the rapture sense, just to be clear). What else was there to do but invite some other friends over and similarly play full contact croquet. After a few brews. In the closed garage. We called it crockey, since it was really more like hockey, and had a league going for a while.
A bloody time was had by all.
That’s croquet I could get behind, but something tells me Scott Walker’s fond of the kinder, gentler version.
They play a version call “[what a] crock-quet”. . .
Sounds a bit like ” Beyond Thunderdome. ”
You guys are animals.
That was for JCG and his “Crockey” crowd.
