Right-wing blogger blames Scott Walker “I voted for Reagan” comment on transcription error

Earlier today I posted about comments purportedly made by Gov. Scott Walker regarding him voting for Ronald Reagan, despite Walker not having been old enough to vote for Reagan in 1980 or 1984. Well, it appears the right-wing blogger who originally interviewed Gov. Walker couldn’t even quote his own source material accurately. In fact, here’s what said author (John Hawkins) originally wrote:

I remember, I was a teenager, had just become a teenager and voted for Ronald Reagan — limited government, you know, smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense. You knew what you were getting. You knew how a Reagan administration, a Reagan presidency was going to be better for you.

As noted by James Rowen over at The Political Environment, after the fact that Scott Walker would not have been old enough to vote for Ronald Reagan was picked up by several national news outlets/blogs, the right-wing blogger in question updated his original post to reflect that Walker did not say he voted for Ronald Reagan. Hawkins blamed the error in his original report on an error made by his transcriptionist (highly unlikely).
