Baldwin to Walker: where are the healthcare coverage numbers?

On Thursday Democratic U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin sent a letter to Republican Gov. Scott Walker in which she asked Gov. Walker for an update on his efforts to transition the nearly 63,000 Wisconsinites who will lose their BadgerCare coverage thanks to decisions made by Gov. Walker. Specifically, Sen. Baldwin requested an immediate report on how many of those nearly 63,000 Wisconsinites have actually transitioned into coverage through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace, in the interest of holding Gov. Walker accountable for his promise to use Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act Marketplace to cut Wisconsin’s uninsured rate in half.

Here’s Sen. Baldwin’s letter to Gov. Walker.

  1. Smart move by Baldwin. Don’t hold your breath for RoJo to do the same.

  2. Very good. Where is Ms. Burke on this? Is she not challenging Walker on anything, or is she just not getting any coverage when she does?
Mary Burke needs to take a page out of the Dem playbook for the Kentucky senate race, and soon.

  3. And Scotty gives a predictably lame response. Whole lotta talking points and “I’m not responsible for those people who had to go on the exchange,” and not much when it comes to actual numbers and effects of this policy.

By the way, those extra people Walker claims to have covered- well over what he budgeted for, which means that extra money has to come from somewhere. Combine that with the massive revenue shortfall that was revealed yesterday, and our deficit seems to be a lot higher than $642 in the next budget.

What an absolute disaster. These guys are totally unfit for office.

    1. Fit for prison though. The mentally ill end up there eventually. Sociopathy or psychopathy, take your pick.
