Got a notice in my emailbox today about an interesting new project being launched by the folks at OpenCongress.org. It’s called RaceTracker, and it aims to track every little tidbit of information that’s floating around the intertubes about every congressional and gubernatorial race in every state and district. Here’s the announcement:
Hi,
Isabelle here from OpenCongress.org. Just wanted to let you know about a new project we’re launching on our wiki that tracks all kinds of info about every congressional and gubernatorial race in every state and district. You can see a full list of every potential challenger in you district, fundraising information for each, as well as a summary of recent electoral trends. All of the information is fully referenced.
It’s a wiki, so the whole project is being crowd-sourced. The idea is that if a lot of people contribute a little bit of knowledge, the RaceTracker will become a one-stop shop for citizens to learn more about electoral politics in their area and become better voters. Can you give it a mention on your blog so that people can start building up the RaceTracker pages for your state and district?
Check out our blog announcement form some more background on the project:
If you’d like to check out RaceTracker for yourself, it can be found here.
