Liar, liar…pants on fire!

I remember when Rep. Jeff Wood, arrested earlier this year for drunk driving and possession of marijuana, said he wouldn’t fight the charges against him or hire a lawyer. Unsurprisingly, Rep. Wood is still fighting the charges against him, and what’s more, Wood and his attorney are now challenging the legality of the search of Wood’s vehicle by a State Trooper following his arrest for drunk driving.

What a disgrace…

  1. Look, I don’t the details of the case, but I think the police that searched his vehicle were acting stupidly.

    1. forgot, I don’t disagree that the cops shouldn’t have searched his car without cause, but my issue here is the fact that Wood said he wouldn’t fight the case, and yet here we are still waiting for this to get resolved. If he didn’t intend on taking his punishment without a fight, then he shouldn’t have said so.

  2. I have no sympathy for Jeff Wood.

I expect him to be a man, admit to the charges, and act honorably about this. Actions have consequences. He was caught by the spirit of the law and, unless he can come with some conspiracy theory about planted evidence, he should ‘fess up and take the consequences.

  3. Ok, people that have seen my posts know that I’m not a liberal. However, regardless of what side of the aisle you come from, if you’re breaking the law, you’re going to do some time.

They can challenge all they want, the fact is he was drunk which gave the trooper probably cause…which in turn led to the discovery that the representative was in possession. And if you’re in possession, chances are good you’re smoking it too, so the trooper probably smelled the residuals in the car.

Save the courts the time for real criminals. He should take whatever plea deal is sent his way and move on.
