  1. Zach,

Although I don’t agree with growing our debt, why don’t you put obama on the graph? Oh, it would have to be a logarithmic scale!

    1. The key word here is estimated, as opposed to actual. Heck, I could estimate that Obama’s going to end up with a budget surplus by the end of his first term, but that doesn’t make it so. There are far too many variables for any estimates of future deficits to be considered accurate.

  2. Yeah Kent, in “I Love Graphs Part 1” I too pointed out the graph you linked here.

I think they use this Maddow clip to make themselves feel better about what Obama is doing now. But what does it prove, that Obama is just like the rest? I thought he was supposed to be a cut above everyone else in politics. Or at least that’s the garbage we were fed in 2008.

  3. And someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE answer why we have Presidents up there on the graph? When it is the CONGRESS!!!!!! borrows money, regualtes commerce, lays and collects taxes and pays debts.

Or is there a new Constitution out there somewhere that I haven’t seen?

  4. Rich,

You hit the nail on the head. Our government is no longer constitutionally driven and it hasn’t been for many decades now.
