Fred “No fact checker needed” Dooley swings and misses yet again

The Claim: State Senator John Lehman let Michael R. Green, who was convicted in 2007 of First Degree Reckless Homicide, out of jail early.

Analysis: In an attempt to portray State Senator John Lehman as being “soft on crime,” Fred “Fast and loose with the facts” Dooley asserted State Senator John Lehman singlehandedly let Michael R. Green, who was sentenced in 2007 to serve 32 years in the Wisconsin state prison system out of prison early. To prove his point, Dooley pointed to Lehman’s vote in favor of Wisconsin Act 28, Wisconsin’s most recent biennial budget bill, which was signed into law in 2009 and included several early release programs for nonviolent offenders. However, while Dooley wants folks to believe Michael R. Green is walking the streets, the fact is, Michael Green is still safely behind bars, statutorily ineligible for any early release programs enacted by Wisconsin Act 28.

I suppose I shouldn’t be a bit surprised Fred Dooley got his facts completely wrong when it comes to Michael R. Green, considering the fact that Dooley cited Charlie Sykes as the source of his information.

Conclusion: Absolute and total crap.

  1. Sykes is using the same vote against Sullivan. The problem is that Sullivan voted no. Never let the facts get in the way.
