The scary season is upon us once again. I of course, am referring to election season not Halloween. As if the ghosts and goblins were not enough, we have unending political commercials. Some of the most terrifying of all are the Scott Walker “help is on the way” ads. Mr. Walker recently released a 68 page “jobs plan” that earned national recognition. Unfortunately he earned it because it was written with 58 point font. It turns out that his “extensive” plan was in reality a 3 page paper of platitudes and no ideas. No wonder he had to drop out of college. Now that’s scary.
Even more frightening is a committee report drafted by the chair of the Walker campaign regarding the state of Milwaukee county. After eight years under Walker, Milwaukee County is in such dire shape, that their main recommendation is to declare bankruptcy. In order to get the county’s finances back in line, they recommend selling the parks, the bus system, and the Zoo amongst other things. The kicker though is they call for eliminating the position of county executive in Milwaukee. Nice legacy.
Further alarming the electorate is Rebecca Kleefisch, who is running for Lieutenant Governor. You might not have heard of her, as she refuses to participate in public events or debate. Ms. Kleefisch , was recently diagnosed and treated for colon cancer. Luckily for her, her husband is a state rep and she was able to use her taxpayer funded health insurance and get the best possible treatment. Unfortunately for the citizens of Wisconsin, she has taken this opportunity to dedicate herself to making sure no one else in the state has the advantage she does.
That is why I support Tom Barrett. This year, let’s not be tricked into voting for the Scotty Walker Horror show.

Scott Walker’s desire to eliminate corporate income taxes (http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/105693663.html) – the third major revenue generator for the state – should be enough to understand his politics and economic development policies – turn WI backwards as our infrastructure continues to deteriorate, as the income gap grows even larger, as schools deteriorate – all in a desire to move us back to a faith-based (wink wink) state much like his role models – South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi. If you couple the elimination of corporate income taxes with lower income taxes on the wealthy you understand his priorities – the economic and corporate elite – not the state and people of WI.
I for one am amazed at the Journal Sentinel endorsing this scoundrel. To see the mess he’s made of the county and the disastrous Mental Health Complex as he “starved the beast” is enough for anyone to understand that this man has no management skills whatsoever. To see him willing to turn down $810 million for public transportation in the form of new high speed rail integrating Madison – Milwaukee – Chicago is chicanery in the first order and should be enough for economic development backers to vote Barrett. To understand Walker’s health care policies and beliefs when it comes to a woman’s maternal health and to the denials of coverage for preexisting conditions, is enough to understand that extremism isn’t what we need now.
The fact that you said nothing about Tom Barrett in your supposed endorsement of him speaks volumes. This isn’t an endorsement of Barrett. Since you say nothing about him, it could just as well be an endorsement of any candidate, a write-in, or not voting at all. No one reading this would be compelled to vote for Barrett because you offer no reason to do so. Hatred of the opposing candidate alone just won’t cut it.
It is not a hatred of walker, it is meant to show the complete incompetence of the Walker/Kleefisch ticket and have some fun on Halloween. This was meant as a letter to the editor and as such I am limited in the amount of words i can use. So i had to pick some points and focus on them.
Usually when I post on here, I do not care about the words but when I write a LTE, I wait until it gets printed then put it on here also. As for no one would be compelled to vote for Barrett, both sides in all races rarely say what they will do they talk up how bad their opponent is. I just followed that format.
It’s fine to talk about why you think Walker is bad or unqualified, but you can’t call that an endorsement of Barrett. I should know at least something about why you think Barrett is worthy of a vote. You can’t get me to eat at Burger King by only telling me how bad McDonalds is.
Ican if the only places open are Mcdonalds and Burger King. Ruths Chris isnt an option.
Wait, wasn’t it you a while back that was complaining about the lack of coverage of third party candidates? Now suddenly you say there are only 2 options.
