“Rally to Restore Sanity” a success

This weekend’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, a joint effort of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert intended to counter Glenn Beck’s Rally to Restore America, was by all accounts a rousing success, with the crowd of attendees estimated to be somewhere between “tens of thousands” and over 250,000.

  1. I’m going to be a big jerk and say that was a very entertaining SHOW but for me it’s only a success if it translates into votes! So the jury is out. Stewart says repeatedly he is an entertainer not a leader. The only person who uttered the V word (“vote”) was Tony Bennett – or did I miss a call to vote? The Right is at war against the Left. And who ever won a war with an abundance of NICEness? If they want to be nice, they gotta be nice and organized. And voting! But I sincerely hope you are right…that the amorphous ironic energy of the thing gets people off the couch and in those polls.
