I’ve heard it speculated that 2010 Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dave Westlake, who was drubbed by Ron Johnson in the Republican U.S. Senate primary, is thinking about another run for the U.S. Senate in 2012, but if Westlake is thinking about running, he might not find much support. A recent poll by Public Policy Polling found Rep. Paul Ryan favored as the Republican U.S. Senate candidate by a wide margin, with Ryan garnering 52% support in a seven person field, with Westlake bringing up the rear of the field with only 1% support.
Obviously a lot can change between now and 2012, but it certainly appears Dave Westlake is going to have his work cut out if he wants to be taken seriously as a Republican U.S. Senate candidate.
