  1. While I get the idea of running placeholder Dems to push all recall elections into August (and take the strategy of splitting up the recall election dates away from the WisGOPs), I think it’s the wrong move, and that the WisDems should have just continued to run their own candidates. If the GOPs try to manipulate the system with fake Dems, then you could use it as a prime example of WisGOP scumbaggery.

Unless the J-S has given up all semblance of objectivity, is making up rumors to make the Dems look questionable, and have become every bit the disgusting GOP mouthpiece its radio station is. And that’s possible too.

  2. A RESPONSE TO – LET THE DOGS OUT

A couple of months ago I checked out the ALEC website. Among their suggestions for state governments was a section on prisons/corrections. In addition to privatization, were other ways to make money from the correction system. One suggestion was that prisoners be required to pay for their incarceration/release. Part of this scheme included the use of bail bondsmen.

This raised a red flag since I have seen several documentaries on how easy it is to scam such systems in ways that are just short of illegal to actually illegal. The suffering caused to the poor and invisible goes without saying. To the designers of these money making schemes those who pay the money are not really people just means to an end.

I was concerned about what this could mean for Wisconsin, but was informed that bail bondsmen were illegal here. I set my concern at rest. It is no longer at rest. This new budget proposal has ALEC fingerprints all over it. It has been proposed by Rep. Robin Vos who has very close ties to ALEC.

My knowledge of correction systems is very limited. I hope someone who knows more will check out the ALEC website for more insight about the goals of the GOP funders.

  3. So I’m watching the GOP debates right now out of boredom and I’ve found this. It’s pretty amazing how the Republicans are debating.

I can hear the moderator try to cut in very delicately that the candidates are getting side-tracked. Poor poor guy. Also Tea Party are a bunch of democrats apparently according to Bachmann. I think there’s like 57 Democrats in the entire Tea Party. And all 57 of them were probably Dixiecrats or Zell Miller wannabes.

    1. Oh god Ron Paul’s way of asking the “This or That” Questions on there cracks me up. You can almost feel Ron Paul’s soul die as he answered that vapid “This or That” question. “Blackberry…” and probably secretly thinking “I hate everyone here.” with that blinking in disapproval afterward.

I really don’t get why there are so many ‘this or that’ questions. Watching this actually makes me feel extremely sad for the Republican Party, it reminds me of historically of the Whigs – and not in a good way.
