Rep Tammy Baldwin and State Sen Jon Erpenbach

My wake up call this morning confirmed not only that Rep. Tammy Baldwin will run for the US Senate seat of Herb Kohl, but that State Sen Jon Erpenbach will run for Rep Baldwin’s WI 2nd Congressional District seat in 2012!

I welcome these two very strong Democratic candidates to their respective races!

  1. And so begins the great seat shuffle of 2012. Expect a formal announcement from State Rep. Pocan about him jumping into the race for Baldwin’s seat, along with Rep. Ron Kind announcing he’ll challenge Baldwin for the U.S. Senate seat.

Personally, I’d like to see Mark Pocan win the seat Baldwin currently holds, because I think he’d do a heck of a job as a Congressman.

  2. Kind should bail out of Senate and run against Walker in the guv election along with Barca. Kagen can challenge Tammy for the Senate seat (which I think he will do). With Kind out, that would move Lassa into his more-safer district for Congress.

Agree that Pocan would be a great Congressman, but maybe old man Risser retires and he moves into that Senate seat for 2012.

The Dem candidate carousel is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
