Let’s play…..”Name that ‘Bipartisan’ Photo Op!”

By now you might have heard that Republican Gov. Scott Walker is planning on holding a “brat summit” on Tuesday in a supposed effort to bring lawmakers from both political parties together to “mend political wounds” (wounds largely caused by Walker).

Over on Facebook, Kurt Baron asked his listeners to come up with a good name for the brat summit.

What’s a good name for Tuesday’s brat summit? How about “Gloating Over Pilsner” fest or the “Let’s Get Drunk and Pretend It’s OK” event. Mine are kinda lame….I know you can do better!

So here’s my challenge to you loyal readers: let’s see if we can’t come up with a truly creative and appropriate name for Gov. Walker’s “brat summit.”

Post your suggestions in the comment thread, and the winner will receive a one year subscription to Blogging Blue, which is always a crowd pleaser!

EDIT : Here are the suggestions we’ve gotten thus far:

  • Walker’s Weiners
  • The I-Lost-All-My-Rights-And-All-I-Get-Is-A-Stinking-Brat Party
  • Johnsonville’s John-Doe Party
  • F*ck You Fest
  • Wurst Fest worst Governor with the worst job creation record
  • Scott’s Brats – Not
  • Brats, Beer and Brawling
  • “Perp-Walk-Er-Palooza”

  1. Will Scooter be wearing his new t-shirt?

I Lost the State Senate, So Instead of Calling My Special Session to Punish These People, All I Got Was This Stoopid, Fake-Bipartisan Foto-Op

  2. Did you Hear Scott Walker asked someone to pickup ice for the bbq and 14 got lost and ended up in Illinois.

    1. Hmmmm. Well, let’s do the math. The Republicans started out with a 20 to 12 numerical advantage in the State Senate. They’re down to 15 now, with the Democrats at 17.

So, Dante The Dumb, wants to talk numbers, huh? How about THOSE numbers, your Dumbitude?

14 Democratic State Senators stymied Fitzwalkerstan by going to Illinois. The numbers don’t lie, Dante. The people of Wisconsin are glad that they did.

If you want to talk about things getting “lost”, Dante, how about talking about how the Republicans lost their State Senate advantage?

Dante, ladies and gentlemen, “the STUPID, it burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrns”.

      1. Zuma while the 14 went to Illinois that did not stop Walker from passing what they were hiding from. They spent all that time away from their job and still failed just like their attempted recalled failed. The people of Wisconsin were glad well depends which side you look at, the majority of the state wished all 14 would have stayed there, the unions were the only supporters of the childish stunt. But don’t let facts confuse you.

        1. Obi Wan: “The [Dumbitude] is strong with this one.”

          @ Dante The Dumb

Dumbo: “The people of Wisconsin were glad [sic] well [sic] depends [sic] which side you look at, [sic] [sic] the majority of the state wished all 14 would have stayed there, [sic] the [sic] unions were the only supporters of the childish stunt.”

Me: The numbers just don’t lie, Dumbalicious. The Republicans used to control the State Senate, 20 to 12. Now, they don’t. Pretty simple way to determine who “the majority” support.

Dumb-Ass [h/t to Red Foreman]: “But [sic] don’t let facts confuse you.”

Me: ONE of us is confused, Dante. ONE of us is ALWAYS confused. It isn’t me.

          Dante, “the STUPID, it burrrrrrrrrns.”

  3. “PERP-WALK-ER-PALOOZA”, that’s the ticket, right, Dante?

    (*laughing*)

  4. @Dante. Let’s see … Walker asked someone and that person turned into fourteen.

Aren’t you ever embarassed by your illiteracy?

  5. Ironic that Phil would ask about grim death .

Grim death is also a ‘Seinfeld-ism’. Jerry told Uncle Leo to hold onto the one woman that liked him ‘like grim death’.

You are being naive. On one side you’ve got reasonable people. On the other you have Snotty Scotty and the wingnut morons who support him, like Smeety who worries about “Putin-like moderation” on a blog. If the last year and a half, and the last Legislative session were any indication, the word “compromise” isn’t in any of their dictionaries.

Unless it advances the union-busting [as Phil notes, this part of the agenda is becoming pretty clear pretty fast, thanks to Mitch Daniels], damn the environment, damn the middle class, rightwing agenda, Snotty Scotty, No-Neck Fitzgerald, and their ilk, will just hunker down, scream, “Putin-like [fill-in-the-blank]” and say, “No” to anything which smacks of diverting from their long-terms goals, and lunkheads like Smeety and Sir Dante The Dumb with their spurious claims of union “thuggery” and “Putin-like [fill-in-the-blank]” will mindlessly support them.

Apparently, it’s going to take the clear failure of Snotty Scotty’s administration to sober up the Wisconsin electorate.

In the meantime, don’t expect Snotty Scotty to back down. At least now, the Legislature isn’t in his pocket.

  6. Have your fun everyone, but as a citizen and taxpayer I TRULY hope that some good can come from this, that these folks can figure out a way to do the PEOPLE’S work over the coming 2+ years.

You have every right to call me a naive simpleton for thinking there is even a chance for this. However, I think these are for the most part honorable people who want to do what is best for our great state – even if they don’t agree on the way to do it.

Yes, I know the fight goes on, but for the time being let’s call it over and get back to creating legislation and creating jobs. Let’s continue fighting later, but for now let get something done. Please

    Let’s hope for the best!

    1. Setting snark aside … I can’t say that I think this is a good idea by Walker. He is naive to believe this will be beneficial.

What would I do? I’d have’em over one at a time. I’d probably start with Jauch and Holperin. I probably wouldn’t even talk politics unless prompted. I’d gauge progress and move up the radical scale….I’d speculate that beyond Erpenbach there would be a significant lack of professionalism. And I wouldn’t bother with Pocan, Taylor and Larson unless something significantly changes. But Walker has Faith that I lack.

The Dems could use a feather in their cap. The mining bill is going to pass anyways after the fall elections, so they may as well get a special session together so they can ‘take charge’ of the State Senate (temporarily) to ‘take credit’ for something the Rs ‘couldn’t do’ (not that anyone would buy it).

Lena Taylor tweeted that no jobs would potentially be created with passage of the mining bill. Infinitely stupid. In her district are several manufacturers that have millions in revenue from mining. But I digress….

So… if I were Walker, that’d be my next goal.

  7. I’m trying to be all cooperative here but all I can think of is “Suck-up Summit”

  8. Thug Reconciliation Revival

Thug after all was the appellation chosen by Republicans to describe people who disagreed with them. After that, it was just a matter of accurately labeling the event so that everyone knew what was happening.
