Unemployment up in all Wisconsin counties in Scott Walker’s Wisconsin

I wonder if more stories like this will help the shine wear off Gov. Scott Walker as he continues to abdicate his responsibilities as governor here in Wisconsin just so he can satisfy his own ambitions.

Unemployment rates are up in every Wisconsin county and major city.

The state Department of Workforce Development reported the figures for January.

The show unemployment increases across the board for the month.

  1. In fairness, this goes up every year simply because Holiday hiring and other seasonal jobs have huge layoffs in January. Those figures aren’t seasonally adjusted.

Likewise, the Walker folks will try to spin how “unemployment is down” when Summer comes around. So we don’t need to be that dishonest by spinning the seasonal rise in unemployment.

Wait for the “gold standard” jobs report next week, which will be horrible, and likely show Wisconsin around the bottom 10 for job growth…again.

  2. When Scotty decided to part ways with President Obama on Medicaid, on transportation, on The Affordable Health care, on worker’s rights and the minimum wage increase, Wisconsin has departed ways with America-now on the rise-and headed down the slippery slope.

  3. Zach, thanks.

“Despite the continuing commentary that all is well in America, economic growth expectations for Q1 just collapsed to a new cycle low. From just 4 months ago, growth expectations have been cut 20% to 2.4%… but that is still four times The Atlanta Fed’s dismal 0.6% forecast…”

  4. It is clear that supply side Reaganomics simply does not work. Higher debt and less jobs.
