In Connecticut following the Sandy Hook massacre a law was passed requiring all gun owners to qualify for and secure a permit before the purchase of a firearm. Kind of like getting a drivers license before operating a car. Gun violence in Connecticut has gone down 40%… 40% since that law was passed.
It’s about time; meaningful and corrective legislation for gun control to help reduce or eliminate needless deaths is long overdue!
The gun lobby headed by Wayne Lapiere and their paid assassins, the Republican members of Congress, are killing us!
How? To start with, eliminate the loopholes; require background checks at gun shows and online sales, Make other changes as needed such as preventing gun ownership by the mentally ill, felons, and others deemed a danger.
We must hold all “pro-life” candidates accountable this fall in supporting and voting for legislation to close the loopholes.
