Brett Kavanaugh Is NOT Fit To Be A Supreme Court Justice.

Professor Christine Basey Ford’s testimony was telling…it was credible…it was believable…and I believe her.

But after Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s behavior in his afternoon testimony, this whole thing should be a moot point. After the anger, the crying, the counter accusations, the obfuscation, the boldfaced lies, it is obvious that Judge Kavanaugh just flat out isn’t fit to be a Supreme Court Justice. And these aren’t the actions of a privileged high school brat nor an elitist college frat boy. These were the actions of a middle aged adult…who happens to be a federal judge.

Just the fact that he came out spitting mad…isn’t the temperament that we expect from any judge less a supreme court justice. From the American Bar Association’s Model Code of Judicial Conduct: Rule 1.2: Promoting Confidence in the Judiciary.

A judge shall act at all times in a manner that promotes public confidence in the independence,* integrity,* and impartiality* of the judiciary, and shall avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety.

If you have been anywhere on social media the past two days, you’ve probably seen this rule.

And then of course we expect our judges to be unbiased. At least outwardly. All of us as humans subscribe to some sort of bias, but I have never heard a candidate for a federal judgeship spew the vitriol against the left, the Democrats, the Carters, and the media that we heard from Judge Kavanaugh. It almost felt like the White House had scripted his rant.

I am happy that the FBI is now involved…but as far as I am concerned after his performance on Thursday…he is personally unfit for the bench or supreme court…no matter what experience or academic credentials he carries.

And I don’t think the women seated behind him buying it either:

  1. I’ve heard a sitting Supreme Court Justice spew vitriol against the Right, the Republicans, and President Trump with such gusto that it makes Judge Kavanaugh’s remarks seem totally Amish. Ruth Bader Ginsburg (according to CNN “The face of the Trump resistance“) is about as anti 1.2 as one can get. Are you going to call for her impeachment? My guess is no and I agree.

    1. Whatever your point about Ginsberg expressing her opinion, it amounts to nothing but a non-sequitur as it relates to the OP so not sure why you are bringing it to this situation.

It is rich however that you picked a story containing a hearsay comment from Paul Ryan, Congress’s number one “faker,” citing a comment he attributes to Ginsberg, so no better incident defines the “pot calling the kettle black.”

On the good side, what we’ve come to expect reading here, your graciously adding real entertainment to the BB pages for sure Nemo. Appreciated and certainly it is understandable that there is no excusing Kavanaugh’s behavior or background, and that the Fascist majority is in charge.

Exercising my November vote as this might be the last time we are allowed to attempt to do that, in all seriousness.

      1. The point sir, is that Notorious RBG has repeatedly showed her bias to the point that we can not expect independence, integrity, or impartiality from her. Given her publicly expressed animus for the current administration, it wouldn’t surprise me if her review for a case would be to read the litigants names and rule for the one that is not Trump. This makes any judicial temperament arguments by the left as funny as a bank robber complaining about getting the wrong change at a Taco Bell.
