I was being just a little glib and tongue in cheek when I wrote: We Need To Hold The White House To This Quote: yesterday. But then the budget came out…and it looks like they are hunting the social safety network in the next budget proposal despite the fact that these programs have little to no impact on the actual budget. Be ready to hold the White House and your elected officials accountable.

One would do well to realize that the real problem with those programs is that they embody the most successful social programs in human history. They are living, breathing refutation of the Right Wing narrative that government can do nothing right. Thus they must be vilified and destroyed by whatever overt or covert means as can be contrived.
