I can’t think of a more non-partisan bureau in the federal government than the Secret Service. So what exactly did U.S. Secret Service Director Randolph D. “Tex” Alles do to get the ax? Well it looks like house cleaning…getting rid of another hire who was suggested by former Chief Of Staff John Kelly…maybe President Trump is getting tired of retired generals. Or did the recent security breach at Mar-a-Lago embarrass the president and Mr. Alles didn’t fall on his sword quickly enough? We’ll see.
But in the meantime, it doesn’t seem prudent to piss off your body guards:
Staropoli (Rich Staropoli, a former Secret Service agent and former senior DHS official under Trump) said the number of changes in directors at the service is dizzying.
“The Secret Service is a culture that doesn’t handle change too well,” he said. “To keep changing directors — this guy’s only been there two years — isn’t a good way for the Secret Service to operate.”
