Quit frankly I was shocked that Pete Buttigieg dropped out of the Democratic race last night. Again, I would expect that if you were thinking about dropping out, you would just coast through Tuesday and see what the results were. But…
So who do you think this helps the most? Joe Biden? Amy Klobuchar? Nobody since Pete Buttigieg is still on the ballot? And will he have enough delegates to influence a brokered convention?
In the meantime, somewhere on social media, I saw a statement, that this was the fastest that anyone who won the Iowa caucus had dropped out of the race.
After this November the Dems really need to reconsider and reorganize the primary system to make it more rational and affordable and efficient. And if that means Iowa and New Hampshire lose some of their thunder so be it.
