Rest in Peace, Wayman Tisdale

Wayman Tisdale, a three-time All-American at Oklahoma in the mid-1980s before playing a dozen years in the NBA and later becoming an accomplished jazz musician, died Friday at a hospital in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Though he never played for a team I rooted for, I followed Wayman Tisdale’s career on the court, as well as his off-court pursuits, and I always admired the grace and class he always carried himself with, both on and off the court. At only 44 years old, Tisdale died much too young.
