Wanna know what Tom Nelson stands for???

Wanna get to know more about Democratic Lt. Governor candidate Tom Nelson?

Wanna find some information on where Nelson stands on the issues that matter most to voters this election year?

If so, don’t bother visiting Nelson’s campaign website, which is devoid of any meaningful information, besides a fundraising appeal and place to add your email to Nelson’s email list.

It’s been weeks since Nelson announced his candidacy for Lt. Governor, so what’s the holdup? How long can it possibly take for a candidate to figure out where he stands on the issues that will decide this election?

Tom Nelson might wanna think about doing something with his website, because I reckon there’s a lot of voters here in Wisconsin who won’t be able to get to hear him speak at a campaign event, and a campaign website should be a resource, not a waste of time, for those voters.

  1. Doesn’t mean we should support candidates who can’t even manage to say what they’d do with the job. With a blank slate like that, you’d think a candidate could come up with *something* they would do if they were in that chair.

    1. Well, what do you expect from a little crapweasel like Nelson? The guy is an opportunist, and not a very good one.

  2. Maybe Nelson should have spent thousands of dollars on trying to win a straw poll by busing in college students and hiring a band. That would have been a better use of resources.

  3. You can’t judge a candidate by his/her website before they’ve even filed to be on the ballot. You promote our friend Chris Larson’s website, which barely has anything more than Nelson’s. A little consistency would be nice.

    1. I’d argue that it’s questionable at best to judge candidates by their websites period. I can’t believe the importance some people put on who hired a better graphic designer or because they pay some lackey to make twitter posts ad nauseam they’re “really plugged in to social networking.” But I guess, you want to decide who to vote for based on who has the better merchandise for sale, that’s your right.

Clear statements of position is really the only thing I have any interest in or place any importance on. And again, like any campaign promise, a deer-sized salt-lick should be taken with it and the individual’s actions – his or her record on those issues.

  4. Keep that line up, Nelson team. Keep trying to make donated music an issue. Keep trying to make handmade signs an issue. Keep telling the college kids they don’t matter, too. And keep telling the Dem activists they don’t matter while you’re at it. I’m sure your professionally-printed stickers/buttons/signs and staff-flanked “announcements” will carry the day for you.

But on a serious note, how stupid do you think people are? How are you going to spin your “big spender” line when *you* try to buy the election? Your true colors are already showing, and it’s only June.

  5. Looks like that Julie Lassa isn’t ready for Congress… her website has nothing on it as well.

  6. I’m with Zach on this one. Someone running for months has a hell of a lot more time to put a website (and platform) together than someone who just got in the race. It doesn’t really matter what office you’re running for – a legit web presence takes a bit of time. And some of these folks have had plenty of it, but no action.
