Topic of the Week: Sarah Palin

Former half-term Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been making the rounds in what she calls the “lamestream” media in order to promote her new biography, “America at Heart,” which is due out next week, and in at least one interview Palin says she thinks she could beat President Obama in 2012.

So here’s my question: Is Sarah Palin a serious presidential contender in 2012?

  1. You mean…the same Sarah Palin who said she’d campaign for Christine “I am not a witch” O’Donnell? I guess the questions is…are there more crazy people than sane people in the US who would vote for her?

  2. She certainly could be a contender, considering the wacky world of the primaries sometimes. And the Iowa Caucus is only about 13 months away, a fact frightening in itself.

    1. Iowa and New Hampshire do have a way of thinning the pack, perhaps at the expense of the opinion of the rest of the country. That in itself is another topic for debate.

  3. I think she will attempt to run, but once she realizes she’s going to lose then she will jump to support the actual Republican Candidate chosen.

    1. Yeah, it comes down to what force is stronger: her greed or her ego. Her ego might compel her to run, but it will quickly become apparent that it would wreck her grifter bidness.

    1. The Gipper served two terms as governor. Momma Grizzly bailed out before completion of one. Quitting is not considered virtuous in America. It’s antithetical to the puritan work ethic.

  4. No not a good choice for president but she would be great for secretary of the interior. We could then start drilling where we have huge oil reserves. Finally will have someone will to stand up to eco terrorist groups like the Sahara Club, Greenpeace and others.
