Incoming Speaker: voting for middle class tax cuts “chicken crap”

Yesterday the House of Representatives voted to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for lower and middle class Americans. The bill passed by a vote of 234-188, with three Republicans voting in favor and 20 Democrats voting against. The bill would extend the Bush-era tax cuts for 97 percent of Americans, but apparently the vast majority of Republicans were opposed to the bill because it would not provide generous tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.

Here’s incoming House Speaker John Boehner describing how he believes the vote to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for 97 percent of Americans is “chicken crap.”

Clearly John Boehner doesn’t think much of providing tax relief to the many millions of Americans who need that relief the most.

  1. Why didn’t the Democratic Party bring this up prior to the elections I’ll never know. But now the Senate must put this up for a vote.
